About this time last year I was getting all jazzed up to attend a two-week long design workshop at Maine College of Art called 'Type in Motion'. Alas, it got cancelled due to funding issues. Anyway, I'm now all excited (all over again) about this year's workshop, which has the more urgent - and timely - theme of 'Truth and Message'. The 'pull' is that there will be quite a few 'name' designers in attendance; the clincher, at least for me, is that it will be oriented around collaborative workshops rather than lectures. I'm also looking forward to the screening I've organized as my contribution to the week's activities. It's a new documentary that brings the notion of performance to a whole new level. Can't wait.
