It’s almost a year to the day since we last joined our friends for a trip to Lake Champlain. This time around we even stopped at the same gas station – which led me to take a snap of this motel sign across the road once more (top: 2004; bottom: 2005). It’s definitely the same sign, but it looks like it’ll take CSI Upstate New York to figure out what actually happened here last Winter.

It almost seems like it could be a Language-Police Makeover, but upstate New York doesn’t make any sense at all.
Quite the laughworthy catch.
Looks like someone appropriated existing assets to improve the signs impact. : P I like that the “EL” on the end of Motel is hollowed out now, and small “t” at the bottom right is beginning to wear. I guess they thought the black tarp in the back would really add to its legibility. Overall nice work. : P
