Millennium Park II

This light tower is half of Jaume Plensa’s Crown Fountain in Chicago’s Millennium Park. According to the picture here, both towers are usually to be found sitting in a rectangular pond – which helps to explain the spurting water jets (apparently the water is also supposed to “cascade from the top of each” tower, too).

The mirrored sculpture I posted an image of yesterday is called Cloud Gate, by Anish Kapoor. It certainly doesn’t look like 110 tons of steel. Lots more pics here.
