Stuart is hard at work doing the database programming for a new site all about product placement; I’m coordinating the assembly of some archival materials for an educational site dedicated to one particular 1950s typeface; and, the logo project is slowly sparking into life, with a visual inventory of Montreal’s skylines and high-rise logos due for launch in the Spring. Meanwhile, the weblog continues to suffer from mild neglect.

hey, i was just wondering, is there any connection between the sparsity/defaultness of this weblog and Manovich’s statement that he’d rather use Windoze out of the box than vainly edit the preferences (which he says wouldn’t actually change it significantly, just pacify him)?
Not that there’s anything wrong with your design, the subject has just been on my mind lately (and the process on my plate).

“sparsity/defaultness”? Ouch! And there’s me thinking I’ve been cultivating a minimalist/sober/restrained aesthetic. Maybe I need to do some spring cleaning/pepping. Best for the break. M.
I liked the “sparcity” of the weblog; I think it conveys a simplistic style that lets the text speak for itself. However, if seeking some pep, maybe a bright green backround could add a little pep? On second thought, I think I like the weblog as is …
